Privacy Policy

How My Restaurant collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

Who we are

My Restaurant, 123 High Street, Harare, operates this website and online ordering service. We are the data controller for the personal information collected here.

What we collect and why

We only collect what we need to take and fulfil your order:

  • Order details — the items you order, your name, and phone number, so the kitchen can prepare your food and contact you about it.
  • Delivery address — only when you choose delivery, so we can bring the order to you and check you're inside our delivery zone.
  • Email address — optional at checkout, used for order confirmations; required if you create an account.
  • Account and loyalty data — order history, saved favourites, loyalty points, and referral activity, if you sign up.

Payments

Card payments are processed by our payment providers (such as Mollie or Stripe). Your card details go directly to them over an encrypted connection — we never see or store your card number. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep your basket and session working — the site can't function without them. With your consent we may also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used and improve it. We do not sell your data or use third-party advertising cookies.

Marketing

We only send offers and news if you've opted in (for example, the newsletter or the marketing preference in your account). You can opt out at any time from your profile settings or by contacting us.

How long we keep your data

Order records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, and food-safety obligations. Account data is kept while your account is active; ask us and we'll delete it.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Object to or restrict how we process it
  • Receive your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these, contact the shop. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
